Wedding and Event Ideas
We love all the unique ways our customers use Benne Wafers and Olde Colony Bakery baked treats in their weddings and special events. Have a picture and story to share?Email Your Story!
Wanted to thank you for helping us create a unique way for our guests to find their tables for our son’s Rehearsal Dinner. Everyone loved their names written in calligraphy, but they enjoyed your Benne Wafers more!!!!
Recently we heard from one of our most loveliest and kind brides, Desirae. We were so glad to be a part of her and Dean’s wedding day and truly appreciate Desirae’s patience as she needed our Benne Wafers right during the middle of our move. We were able to get her the Bennes and she put up with the moving chaos. It all worked out in the end and we are so thankful to have worked with her for her gift favors. Please enjoy the beautiful pictures she shared with us!
Hello, I recently purchased a hundred Bennie wafers for my wedding and we just got our photos back and I wanted to share them with you and let you know how much we appreciated your product at our wedding. All of our family was from up north so we decided to fill a bag with a taste of Charleston. Once again thank you so much for all your help in making our big day extra special! – Desirae
Recently, a cousin of Lindsey’s in Michigan had a college graduation party and put out our Benne Wafers with the cake to represent the Good Luck for his future. I’m sure his hard work in college had something to do with it, but we’d also like to credit our Benne Wafers for the extra magical touch, as we found out this past week he landed a great job! Congrats to Jake on his college graduation and a bright future at his new job!
For a lovely couple’s baby shower, they put out our Razzberry Sassies. A little pink in the cookie for the baby girl they were having. So sweet and also so nice of them to put out a label to let people know where the cookies were made. We hope their new baby girl brings them much joy as we’re sure she’ll be just as sweet as our cookies!
Wow, what a great idea from our friends at Creekside Vet Clinic.
Thank you, Olde Colony Bakery! We at Creekside included several of your yummy gifts in our welcome basket we made for a client from out of town. It is our new STANDARD. Thank you, they loved it!
We feel like we struck gold with incorporating Olde Colony Bakery items in our welcome basket. We can’t wait to get another out-of-town client to create another one. Thanks for all your help in helping us pull this together! We had a lot of things in that basket, bottled water in SC (and Charleston) koozies, fresh fruit, customized maps for walking routes, but don’t you know…they’re favorite was the Olde Colony Bakery goodies?!
We received a very sweet, thoughtful response about our Benne wafers by Kathleen on our Facebook page. Here’s what she had to say about how she used our Benne Wafers in her daughter’s wedding in Mobile, Alabama!
The Benne Wafers were a great “good luck” wish from the Low Country! Thank you for the wonderful packaging!
The Hampton Inn, Historic District downtown Mobile, Alabama, Event Planners and guests were wowed with the thought that went into our Party favors. Thank you all for packaging your historic fun treats in a way that is affordable and beautiful for sharing with others.
She also recently shared them during the Dragon Boat Festival sponsored by the Dragon Boats of Charleston in our Hat Dragon’s Tent represented by the Hat Ladies of Charleston!
We are so thankful for Kathleen’s support and the kind words she shared with us.
In May 2012, Red Letter Events used our Key Lime cookies as part of a welcome box for a Charleston destination wedding!
Here’s a few pictures:
We love working with all the wonderful wedding coordinators and planners in our area!
Jacqueline & Derek used Benne Wafers and Benne Cheese Zingers in their beautiful wedding reception!
When you marry the man who makes the Benne wafers, of course you have to feature them in your wedding. I thought I’d share a few pictures of how we used them.
In each favor bag, we included a recipe card for a “happy marriage” and treats from South Carolina and Michigan. For Michigan, we included a spice packet from our favorite spice shop in Ann Arbor, MI – The Spice Merchants. From South Carolina we provided the sweets – a Benne Wafer Turndown bag, Nana’s Praline, and Charleston Chew candies.
And then on our dessert table, in addition to wedding cake, we had our favorite candy, pies from Grand Traverse Pie Company, and Benne Wafers. The Benne Wafers and candy were in Anchor penny jars. If we find a picture of the Benne Wafers in the jar with the scoop, we’ll post a picture!
